What owners ask me.
- Who will I actually deal with?
- Me, from your first message to the day it goes live. There are no account managers or hand-offs in between, and I'll keep it in plain English.
- Why did you start Surface & Core?
- Plenty of small businesses have no website, or one that lets them down, and agency quotes are often out of reach. I started Surface & Core to give them a site that's properly designed and built, at a fixed price, paid once.
- What are you like to work with?
- Straightforward. Before anything starts, you'll know what I'll build and exactly what it costs. While it comes together, you'll get updates in plain English, and every reply comes from me.
- What happens once it's live?
- Fixes are covered for 14, 30 or 60 days, depending on your package. After that, small changes are £40 an hour in 15-minute blocks. Your domain, words and site files are yours once it's paid for.
- Where are you based?
- Southampton. I'm happy to meet in person locally, or talk by phone or video call, whichever suits you.
Underneath: how the studio runs.
Every website has two layers. The surface is what your customers see: the design, the words, the photos. The core is what makes it work: speed, security, the form that brings you enquiries, the set-up that gets you found.
A business is the same. You've met the surface. This is the core: the promises underneath every job.
What I promise every client.
- One price, paid once. No monthly fees and no contracts. Half to start, half before it goes live.
- It's yours. Your domain, your words and your site files belong to you once it's paid for.
- Plain English. I'll explain anything technical in a sentence, and never bury you in jargon.
- Never a template. Every site starts from your business, so it couldn't belong to anyone else.
- Honest proof only. No made-up reviews, logos or results, on my site or on yours.
